Looking back at the TrackOnline Event in the Watertower: An inspiring day at historic heights

Last Thursday, our customers gathered at a truly special location: the iconic Watertower in Delft. But before we could get started… we had to overcome a little challenge first.

A sporty start

The day quite literally started with a climb. 100 steps up to the event hall, and for the real go-getters, another 32 steps to the rooftop terrace. We had already warned everyone about this in the invitation, but it’s still a surprise when you find yourself needing a break halfway up. Fortunately, there was a bar waiting at the top to help with the sudden lack of oxygen. And that wasn’t all – with the beautiful weather, the rooftop offered a breathtaking view over Delft. A perfect moment to catch your breath, take it all in, and get ready for an afternoon full of insights and inspiration.

Kick-off and a strong sense of pride

The event was kicked off by Toon de Jong, who immediately set the tone: pride. Pride in our customers, pride in the turnout, and pride in what we have achieved together. He reflected on the challenges – yes, the migration from Avalanche to TrackOnline wasn’t without hurdles – but more importantly, he emphasized how great it is to work for and with such dedicated customers.

Kahoot, roadmap, and food for thought

After the kick-off, the audience was engaged by Mariska Smit and Anna Valkenburg, who hosted an interactive Kahoot session. A lively quiz that had everyone participating enthusiastically while providing valuable insights.

Next up was Jeroen van der Laan, who took the stage (which, after climbing 100 steps, was an achievement in itself) to give an exclusive look at the TrackOnline roadmap. Here are the key developments coming up:

🔹 Smart Balance – A control center for packaging management with automated confirmations, balance insights, and forecasting.
🔹 AI Integration: Eva Lans – Our AI assistant that generates overviews, checks outstanding actions, and automates routine tasks like “Email to Order” and “CMR to Order.”
🔹 TrackOnline Network – A standardized collaboration tool with a dashboard, a handshake model, and self-service for customers.

Jeroen’s presentation sparked a lot of excitement and new insights, leading to lively discussions. During the break, attendees continued the conversation on the rooftop terrace, exchanging experiences and ideas – naturally, with a drink in hand and a stunning view over Delft.

AI: Hype or Reality?

The topic of AI had already surfaced a few times – first in the Kahoot session and then in the roadmap. But what is AI, really? How does it work? And more importantly, how can you make it work for you?

To answer these questions, we invited an expert: Gabriël van der Kruijk.

And what a great decision that was! Gabriël not only explained what AI is but also directly linked it to the previous sessions. For many attendees, the lightbulb moment happened: AI is not some distant future concept but a powerful tool that can already be implemented today. His session sparked inspiring discussions and gave customers fresh ideas on how to integrate AI into their daily operations.

A networking drink that (predictably) ran over time

After the final session, it was time to wrap up the day with a networking drink. Customers chatted with each other, engaged with our team, and met TrackOnline colleagues in person instead of just through a screen. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the conversations inspiring, making the networking session – as expected – run well beyond its scheduled time. A great sign that there was plenty to talk about!
